Robert Isham

Life
Robert Isham (Isam) was christened at Gilmorton, Leicestershire, on 15 January 1637 (probably 1636/7), son of Robart Isam.1 He is named with his wife Mary as parent in the Gilmorton baptism of their daughter Mary Isham on 17 June 1660;2 nothing is recorded of him after 1660.?
The only Robert Isham family in the parish at this date was that of Robert (Robart) and Alice Isham (PJ32-CM6), whose children An (1634) and Richard (1641) were also baptised there, so this christening is taken to be theirs.? Robert would have been about 17 in 1654 and so cannot be the father of John Isham of Barnstable, Mass. (LZFD-C3J), who is placed instead as his presumed (unproven) younger brother.?
Not to be confused with Robert, son of Gregory Isham of Barwell (LJ1P-KBN), who was still a minor in 1663.? The 1660 baptism was formerly attached to that Robert in error.?
